About the event

On May 4, 5 and 6, 2017, McGill University will host the Journées internationales de la culture scientifique (JICS) - Science and You in Montreal. This international event, which is organized by Association francophone pour le savoir - ACFAS, is the opportunity for stakeholders in the scientific, cultural, and business community to meet with public decision-makers and people who are passionate about science.
Throughout the activities held during these 3 days, different leading figures will invite the participants to exchange, discuss, learn, acquire new skills, and to think about the various uses of digital technologies for the dissemination of scientific knowledge, the creation of scientific communities and access to knowledge for people living in remote regions.

The Journées internationales de la culture scientifique - Science and You program includes:
• 4 opening keynotes (May 4)
• 20 discussion panels (May 5)
• 4 practical training workshops (May 6)
• Various activities (Science-moi!) open to the general public: national finals “Ma thèse en 180 secondes” (competition), “La preuve par l’image” (exhibit), launch and publication of a special issue of Découvrir magazine dedicated to scientific culture …

All of the presentations, except the workshops and general public activities, will be simultaneously translated into English or French as necessary. The training workshops are offered in both languages, to facilitate interaction between the trainer and participants, thus giving the participants the opportunity to fully seize the tools presented during these workshops.
