Inspiring Learning. Enriching Wikipedia

Everyone consults Wikipedia the online collaborative encyclopedia, making it the 5th most visited website worldwide, but who are the contributors? In this workshop you will become familiar with the mysteries of Wikipedia and will learn how to contribute by creating a user account and going through the first steps.

The objectives of the workshops organized by Acfas in collaboration with Wikimedia Canada are as follows:

• Improve and create scientific articles in French in Wikipedia;
• Introduce scientific communicators to collective contribution;
• Help unfamiliar individuals in publishing in Wikipedia a topic they choose;
• Train people interested in becoming Wikipedia trainers.

Animators:

Ha-Loan Phan, Project manager, Association francophone pour le savoir - ACFAS
Ha-Loan Phan fell in Wikipedia soup during her master's degree in biological sciences. She gives training for ACFAS the online edition for 3 years, which she adapts to diverse and varied audiences. She has been a member of Wikimedia Canada's Board of Directors since 2016.


Benoit Rochon, President, Wikimedia Canada
Benoit Rochon has been participating in Wikipedia since 2003 and has been training Wikipedia since 2011. His role as a patroller and administrator gives him an observatory of predilection to see the "faux pas" committed by the beginners, and it is in This orientation that orientates the formations that it gives to the universities and other institutions of Quebec
