PCST 2014 was held this year in Salvador (Brazil). This 13th edition was the first to be held in Latin America since the creation of the PCST International Conference, in 1989. More than 500 science communicators from 50 countries joined the Conference, from 5 to 8 May, to debate around a central theme, "science communication for social inclusion and political engagement". PCST 2014 was considered a "marathon of science communication", with plenaries and 13 simultaneous sessions. In total, more than 100 sessions were scheduled. Patrick Baranger, outgoing general secretary of JHC 2012 and chair of the Hubert Curien Network, and Kateřina Picková, Science & You 2015 project manager, were there to share ideas on science communication with the participants, and to present Science & You 2015.
