PhD workshops

PhD workshops

November 14 to 16, 56 international PhD students will take part in SciComm workshops. Their feedback will be presented as exhibitions and live performances [FR only] during the Sciences & Cultures Forum, Thursday november 18th, 11h45-13h45, Hall 2.1

Are researchers sufficiently aware of the need to be open to the public? The Université de Lorraine has made it its mission to participate in better training of future researchers in this field, in order to open their minds to the contributions between science and society, their issues and their public.

PhD students of all disciplines and nationalities will be welcomed for two days ahead of the symposium for a 15-hour training in different mediation practices: theatre, dance, tales... all ways of getting science across to the general public which require a high quality professional approach.

Training for PhD students consists of:

1 heterogeneous group of young researchers
+ 1 mediation tool
+ 1 reference researcher (Research popularised during the training will come from work conducted at the Université de Lorraine. In this way, each young researcher will attempt to express a concept that is not their own).

The proposed workshops are the following: each PhD student will be able to choose one from this list. Please note that the workshops will be given in French only; PhD students willing to take part in the worshops must have a good command on French to apply.
